Physical fitness class description
Club R.I.P.P.E.D.
This club gets together after school on Mon., Wed., and Fri. Students workout for about 2.5 hours completing varying exercises. The acronym for the club is:
R.esistance (Using resistance bands and weights)
I.ntensity (Workouts that involve intense bursts of energy followed by periods of rest)
P.arkour (Agility, balance and plyometrics)
P.ower (Power-lifting using weights)
E.ndurance (Cardio-vascular)
D.iscipline (Diet and self-control)
Students take measurements of their body for before and after results so they can see their progress. We also plan on taking a before and after picture to really show the difference of their hard work. Then we measure their physical abilities in the beginning and compare them to their abilities at the end of the year. Things like push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, squats and so on. This will blow their minds away on how much they have progressed!
Running Club: Track and Field
Mrs. Hoppe and coach Garza assist with this after school program to build skills and endurance for running and track.
Strength Lifting
Both Mr. DiSalvo and Mr. Scheidt coach for the Merced High Football team. This program is open to all students and is designed to build muscle, increase strength and muscular endurance.

Intramural sports provide students a great way to get exercise, relieve stress, develop friendships and play the sports you love. The program is also an opportunity for first-timers to get involved.
We have a broad range of sports at a variety of skill levels for everyone!
